DAY 1 - Auckland
On your arrival in Auckland pickup your Ezy Rental and it is time to
explore the many attractions that New Zealand’s largest city
has to offer. Attractions include:-
- Auckland Sky Tower
- Waiheke Island
- Beaches
- Shopping
- Harbour cruises
- Mt Eden
- Museum
- Zoo
 DAY 2 – Auckland to the Bay of
Islands
Cruise north over the Auckland harbour bridge on SH1 making your way
up to the beautiful Bay of Islands.
Optional Detour - You can if you wish turn left of SH1 at the bottom
of the Brynderwyn’s onto SH12 to head out to the magical Waipoua
Forest.
DAY 3 – Bay of Islands
The Bay of Islands has much to offer & is great for water activities & beaches! Attractions
include:-
- Cape Brett “Hole in the rock” cruises which many tour
operators offer
- Waitangi Treaty House
- Swimming with dolphins
- Ferry rides
- Day tours up to Cape Reinga (you can either get a coach tour or drive
yourself)
- Fishing
- Diving
- Sailing
- Horse riding
- ……and much more!
NOTE: If you have more time to spend in the North Island sometimes
an extra day of leisure in the Bay of Islands is a great idea as it
is hard to fit all the adventure & sights the Bay of Islands has
to offer in one day! This is a place that’s EZY to spend
more time at!
 DAY 4 – Bay of Islands to
Auckland
Head back to Auckland by taking SH1 taking your time & perhaps
stop off in Whangarei for lunch. Stay in Auckland City the night & have
dinner at one of the many restaurants on the Viaduct harbour.
DAY 5 – Auckland to Waitomo
to Rotorua
Depart Auckland heading south down through Waikato farmlands
to Waitomo. Here is where you can explore the famous Waitomo Caves & Glow
worms.
Attractions in Waitomo include:-
- Black water rafting
- Guided tours through the caves / glow worm grottos
- Horse Trekking
After leaving Waitomo continue making your way onto Rotorua for the
night
DAY 6 – Rotorua
Rotorua is filled with cultural experiences & geothermal attractions. There
are many different sights to visit and things to do in Rotorua! Attractions
include:-
- Whakarewarewa Thermal Reserve
- Agrodome
- Maori Hangi & Concert experiences
- Thermal spas & hot springs
- Shopping
- Gondalas & Luge
- White water rafting
- ……and lots more!
NOTE: Again as there are so many things to see & do in
Rotorua if you have extra days in the North Island this is another
fantastic place to spend an extra day or two so you get to fit in all
the things you would like to do! Alternatively you can continue
to drive south to Taupo which is situated around Lake Taupo which is
New Zealand’s largest lake.
DAY 7 – Rotorua to Auckland
Take this day to leisurely drive back to Auckland where you will return
your Ezy Rental or have a spare day in Auckland before you leave!
